Andrey Rublev was the big favorite to reach the semifinals at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament. The seventh seed, who came into his match against Filip Krajinovic having won 13 of his last 14 matches, nevertheless failed to advance to the final four in Rotterdam.
It was the world No.39 who claimed the victory: 7-6(2) 6-4. 'I felt I deserved to win’, proclaimed Krajinovic. "I served well and played quite aggressive. Actually I was not expecting a victory over Rublev. At the Davis Cup Finals last year I only managed to win three games against him and to be honest I could have lost 6-0 6-0.”
"I’m extremely happy to have reached the semifinals, but it will be a tough match against Gaël, who beat me in Montpellier last week.”
