Stan Wawrinka won the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in 2015, but the 32 year old Swiss has not played in Rotterdam Ahoy since. The winner of three Grand Slam titles will play the first evening session on Tuesday at 7.30 pm against the Dutch Tallon Griekspoor, who got admitted with a wildcard.
"I do not know much about Griekspoor yet,” Wawrinka admitted, who had a knee surgery last year. "With a bit of scouting at the other players I will get information about Griekspoor.” Tuesday evening ends with the duel between the Serbian Filip Krajinovic and the Canadian super talent Felix Auger-Aliassime, who has received a wildcard from tournament director Richard Krajicek.
The second match day in Rotterdam Ahoy also has an attractive afternoon with matches from players Gilles Muller and David Goffin, who lost the final against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga last year in Rotterdam. The Tuesday afternoon will be closed with a doubles match between two Dutch pairs: Robin Haase/Matwé Middelkoop-Jasper Smit/Jesse Timmermans. The last two players won the Supermatch of the national club champions.
